Sins are of all types. Sometimes we commit sins and we don’t ever realize it. Maybe you spoke a little too loud to your parents, or cursed when you stubbed your toe. Perhaps you looked a little too long at something you shouldn’t have, or delayed your prayer to do something else. You might have hurt someone’s feelings and not apologized, or not been there when a family member needed you.
Though they seem trivial, sins like these can really impact your life and your relationship with Allah… Especially since we usually overlook them. But remember that just because it seems to be small to you does not mean it is small to Allah.
Allah SWT says in the Quran (Surah Nur, Ayah 15): وَتَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَظِيمٌ
And you think it is small, but with Allah it is great (أو كما قال).
This goes for sins and good deeds. To erase some of those sins we tend to overlook, we should increase in small acts of goodness and seek much forgiveness with Allah. Good deeds erase bad deeds so take advantage of that and do extra. Pray extra prayers, read more Quran, smile, give charity, do an act of kindness, fast, etc. But remember to do it only for Allah and He will reward you for it.
